Checking out my logs, the most popular posts always seem to be those that outline how to install a package, extension or whatever. Installing git on ubuntu is really straight forward, but thought I'd post it anyway.
SSH into your box, and run the following:
sudo apt-get install -y git
sudo is used to mark that you have super-user permissions;
apt-get is the
program that downloads binaries/programs;
install command does what you think
it would; the
-y flag tells the installer that you're answering yes to the
confirmation prompt about how much disk space it will require, and
git is the
name of the program you're installing.
